Dear FVA members, friends & readers, again we share with you our FVA meet-up events! We now have 4,590 FVA Meetup members! As you can see, we continue to have a variety of opportunities for you to become involved. WHERE ARE YOU? Please join our Meetup group where you can sign up for events that interest you! This will help us to better know what attendance to expect at our events and plan appropriately.)
FVA Demos/Community/Tablings:
7/7, 8/4, 9/1 - Vegan Support Groups, Open Forums, held virtually via Zoom. Join great discussions with some regular attendees and new ones each time. No pressure to chat, but we always like everyone to introduce themselves and now require you to participate with video. 7/15, 8/16, 9/3, 9/24, and 10/2 – Tampa Bay Veg Fest Volunteer Meetings– Volunteers met to discuss how to help with TBVF on 11/5/22 at Loving Hut, Florish Plan-Based Pizza & Bowls, Green Culture, New Leaf Café, and Lotus Vegetarian Restaurant.
8/6 and 8/7- Loomis Brothers Circus Protests – Loomis Brothers Cirrus is still exploiting animals for entertainment. Activists joined IDA in this protest to speak up for animals.
9/10- Al Lopez Quarterly Park Clean Up- FVA volunteers help clean up this park quarterly.
10/15 – Demos, Go Vegan! - at St. Pete Saturday Morning Market
Legal Activities:
7/19, 9/6, 9/20 – City of Largo Commissioners Meeting- Puppy Sales Hearing – Largo Commissioner meeting regarding the sale of puppies in retail stores. Pinellas County is one of the few counties in the area to NOT ban the sale of puppies.
9/21 – Hillsborough County Commissioner Meeting-Rabbit Sales
10/11- Pasco County – Rabbit Sales Hearing Rabbit sales are banned!
FVA Sanctuary Donations:
July - Laughing Pig Sanctuary, New Port Richey, FL, $200
August - Shelter Farm Sanctuary, Arcadia, FL, $200
September – Paw Warriors in Spring Hill, $200
October- Emergency hurricane donations to Shelter Farm Sanctuary (Arcadia) and Little Bear (Punta Gorda), $200 each
